12/2/24 – This is a very nice example of rare 1937 Mauser Banner Luger sold in the commercial market. There were only about 300-400 of this variation made and about 25 reported examples. This one has all of the correct characteristics, is all matching, and has the proper “Crown U” commercial proofs. It comes as a rig with 1918-dated holster (missing its lift strap, and the stitching on one of the belt loops is missing), an Imperial marked tool, and magazine that is not matching but is only one serial number away! It also comes with a copy of a signed letter from our consignor, explaining how his father captured this gun from a German SS Officer at the end of WW2. The gun has retained about 94-95% of its original finish with minor wear on the high edges, on the side plate, and around the muzzle. Excellent straw-colored finish on the small parts. Fitted with excellent un-numbered wood grips. The bore shows obvious pitting throughout.
