3/3/23 – This is a rare BYF 42 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these were made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45’s. All matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. It has retained roughly only 40% of its finish with obvious finish loss throughout and some areas of light oxidation here and there. We believe some areas have been touched-up with cold blue. Some tiny handling marks on the barrel. Fitted with excellent blackish-brown bakelite grips and comes with an “Eagle 135” marked Mauser magazine. The bore is shiny with strong rifling, but there is a small area of pitting around the muzzle end. De-cocker is functional.
