10/12/23 – This is a rare, early Berlin-Lubecker Z.F.41 K98 sniper rifle from 1941. The rifle is mostly matching, with only mismatched barrel bands (they match each other). Matching numbers on the bolt, stock, receiver, barrel, bolt release, floorplate, follower, etc. The stock is likely force matched though as it does not have the correct waffenamt. The screws in the trigger group are matching to each other but mismatched to the stock. The bluing on the rifle is very nice overall with minor oxidation on the receiver, and thinning on the trigger group. The stock has been lightly sanded, but waffenamts and serial are still visible. It has various dings and minor chips but no cracks. The rifle features the early flat roller mount with correct ‘duv’ scope mount. The scope is marked ‘Z.F’ with a ‘bmj’ maker mark. Scope is in good condition with slightly cloudy optics. The listing also includes a sling, cleaning rod and sight hood, as well as a scarce scope can.
