06/25/2024 – For sale is a very late “Last Ditch” Type 99 Arisaka that was likely a factory incomplete model. Many very late Type 99’s made by Tokyo Juki Kogyo have been documented as incomplete rifles put together. Many were missing parts or not finished. This example Is in great condition with the metal parts retaining much of their bluing. There are specks of oxidation throughout. The stock features a rope hole for a rope sling instead of traditional leather slings. There is no front sling swivel. The stock is correct as it is a 3 piece stock being held together by the barrel bands. The bore is fairly bright but it is darkening. There is no serial number stamped on the receiver. The bolt release lever is loose and does not hold the bolt in place. Examples of these rifles were found without bolts and this rifle has a bolt mismatch. The stock is properly proofed for TJK.
