4/26/23 – This is an original 1941 dated wooden Luger box. These are rarely found transport boxes, believed to be commonly used by German Merchant ships in case of an emergency on board. As featured on page 1431 of the Borchardt Luger Book. This example is in great condition with smooth / freely functional closure hook and hinges. The top lid is marked “P.08 m.Tasche”, and the left side of the exterior is maker stamped, date stamped, and waffen military acceptance proof stamped. The reinforced metal corners show dark surface patina and natural aging throughout. The interior of the box is clean, and the metal fixtures show mild surface rust and aging.
