9/1/17 – This is an original, very early and rare production AC40 P.38 pistol holster. 1940 is the earliest documented year of P.38 holsters. The back of this holster is clearly dated 1940 with a Genschow & Co. maker and waffen eagle WaA286. The holster is worn, with some surface cracking on the closure strap and exterior leather. The back right belt loop is slightly torn and lightly repaired at that area – shown in photos. The top stitching is also missing with a small repair (notice the black stitching in the photos). However, these are the hardest to find year for P.38 holsters, and despite the worn condition this holster is a very hard find!
