1/3/22 – This is a nice example of a rare Mauser Luger issued to the Kriegsmarine Navy in 1938. There were only 2,400 Navy Mauser Lugers produced in 1938, and there were only about 6,000 Kriegsmarine Mauser Lugers ever marked as such. This one is all matching, has the proper “Eagle 63” military proofs on the right side of the slide, and has an “O.3493” Navy property marking on the front strap. It has retained roughly 85% of its original finish. Most of the finish loss is on both grip straps, where the bluing is thin. There is noticeable spotty/scratchy wear on the left side of the gun, especially on the side plate and frame. Minor pitting in the same area and on the right side rail. Some light scratches on the barrel. Areas of freckling on the barrel, both sides of the frame, and on the grip straps. Comes with excellent matching-numbered wood grips and a period-correct mismatched magazine. The bore is shiny with strong rifling and areas of minor freckling here and there.
