Model 1906 Luger
1913
1499 - 23738

1/24/23 – This is a very rare DWM Luger that was one of ~4,000 made by DWM for the Dutch East Indies Army. The barrel is dated 1913, which is when it entered service. The ‘1’ on the back of the frame is a weapon number and means that it was a replacement for a revolver. These numbers were later filed off when brass identification plates were added which evidently didn’t happen to this gun.  It’s all matching numbers including the grips – they are slightly worn along the edges which causes them to fit a little loosely. Safety correctly marked ‘RUST’. The pistol has nearly all of the bluing remaining but was likely arsenal refinished.  One small area of wear on the right side of the slide. While there is very little actual finish loss, there are areas of brown patina under the finish, areas of pin-pricking throughout, and some areas of minor pitting – most noticeable on the right side of the chamber and on the grip safety. A small ding in the metal on the right side rail. Comes with a mismatched wood bottom magazine. The bore has decent rifling with pin-pricking throughout.
