8/18/22 – This is a nice example of a rare DWM Gewher 98 issued to the Imperial German Navy in 1901. The gun is completely matching (including the stock) except for the bolt handle. There is a correct “Crown M” Navy marking on the right side of the butt stock. No import marks. It has the proper Imperial German proofs throughout. Generally, there is spotty oxidation on the metal parts throughout. There is noticeable finish loss on the receiver and barrel bands. Some brown patina visible under the bluing along the barrel and noticeable brown patina and some pin-pricking on the floor plate / trigger group. Noticeable spotty oxidation on the butt plate. The stock has noticeable dings, dents, and bruises throughout. The bore is near-mint.
