12/1/23 – This is a very rare example of a DWM Luger from around 1900. It has the American Eagle crest on the receiver, which indicates it was made for export to the US. It is also “Germany” marked on the frame. These guns were imported into the US by retailers such as Pacifico Arms and AF Stoeger. These retailers sometimes offered them with the very rare Ideal Grips, which were made by a US company. The grips and stock were made to provide both a holster and a stock to fit onto the grips. A video on how this works is linked below, although note that it is a different Luger and stock:
The luger itself shows a good deal of wear. The original finish is about 70%, and the numbers are all matching. The grips show a good number of dings and bumps in the wood, especially where the stock attaches. The stock has a similar amount of of wear, but just about every example we have seen is worn with cracked or poor leather. The bore is worn as much as the gun. Probably rates a 5 out of 10. Comes with a post war Swiss magazine.
