2/7/23 – This is an original WW1 production Luger holster that was later modified by the German police. The holster has black dyed leather on the front, and the back leather is still brown, as shown. The back leather is maker stamped “N. Burghard” and is also stamped “AWM 2”. We think these are original stamps as part of a WW1 production holster. The front leather shows evidence that the closure strap was moved, and a police luger holster lid was added. The police often modified holsters from WW1 and this is a prime example. The interior leather is stamped “L.S.P. V. 2” which could be a unit stamp, but we’re not sure. The stitching is tight throughout the holster, but there are missing / replaced stitching on the closure strap and back belt loops. The leather is soft and pliable but has no major issues and is completely intact.
