3/13/24 – This is an original Australian Owen Mk1 bayonet with the scabbard. The scabbard has a few light surface scuffs in the leather, but the original press stamps are crisp and legible, they read “Mangrovite’45”. The blade retains most of its original bluing finish but does show some light scabbard wear just below the spine on both sides. The edge has not been sharpened. The ricasso is stamped “1907 5 45” “XOA.” The wood grips have. There are a few light handling marks, but they are otherwise excellent and correctly marked Slaz44. Overall an excellent condition example of a fairly rare bayonet.
