1/24/23 – This is a very interesting “oddball” Model 1906 Navy Luger. To start, both the toggle and chamber are un-marked. Most of the parts are not numbered except for the barrel and side plate, which are mismatched. Both the barrel and left side of the frame have commercial “Crown N” proofs, and there is also a “Germany” export marking on the frame. The barrel also has a “Crown M” Navy marking. This one is difficult to explain, but our best guess is that this gun was put together using leftover parts, never actually issued to the Navy, reworked at an arsenal, and then sold in the commercial market. In any case, it has retained nearly all of its bluing with just hints of wear around muzzle and on the side plate. Very light brown patina on the side plate as well and a tiny handling mark on the front strap. Comes with mint wood grips and a mismatched Navy magazine – repaired crack in the base. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
