6/29/22 – This is an original German NSKK Motorcycle Sturzhelm or crash helmet. The helmet features a black hardened leather exterior with a top leather comb, and a long back / neck apron. The front of the helmet has a metal NSKK eagle holding a swastika. Each side of the exterior has a metal 3D air vent just above the ear position. The exterior shows some mild surface wrinkling and typical signs of aging throughout. There’s mild discoloration due to wear along the exterior brim and comb, which is made from a softer leather material than the hard shell. The back leather neck apron is in great condition, as is the chin strap which also widens at the base on either side to protect the wearer’s ears. The protective piece of leather for the right ear is detached, as shown in photos. The left ear has some loose stitching but is still attached. The chinstrap / side straps of leather are otherwise in great condition with some mild surface wear but no cracking or major issues. The interior liner is ink stamped for size 56 and is completely in tact with some mild signs of aging. The liner also has a faint pink ink stamp that reads “Motorsturm 1 / M153 Marohelm”.
