9/14/22 – This is an original NSKK Dagger by Anton Wingen Jr. The dagger comes with an original black anodized scabbard and an unmarked leather hanger. The mouth of the scabbard has some rough filing marks, as shown in the last photo. We believe this may be because of the tight fit the scabbard and blade have; an unknowing prior owner may have filed the mouth of the scabbard to loosen this tightness. We’re not sure, and the dagger still fits tightly inside the scabbard regardless (this “adjustment” to the scabbard mouth made no difference). The blade has some scabbard rub wear and dark spots of oxidation. The blade edges show misuse and along one side of the edge there’s evidence of sharpening. The hand guard is Gruppe stamped “Wm”. The wood handle has some imperfections but no notable cracks or chips. The scabbard has surface patina throughout and a minor dent on the tip. Good overall condition.
