10/03/23 – Up for sale is a Nepalese-issued Martini-Henry Mk IV chambered in .577/450. These rifles were transferred from British Royal Arsenals to the Nepalese and then later imported into the US. The rifle is in good shape for its age but has lost the majority of its original metal finish. The loading ramp maintains its original dark finish. The rest of the metal is covered in a fine patina with no signs of active rust or corrosion. The right side of the receiver is marked with a crown, “Enfield 1887, IV. 1.” The rifle has British proof stamps marked throughout, and below the rear sight is stamped N.S. NEP to signify it was transferred to the Nepalese. The bore looks great for its age and still has sharp rifling but is frosted over and on the darker side. The wood furniture is in great shape with the only blemish being a repair on the fore-end where it meets the receiver on the bottom. There are unit information stamped on the right side of the stock which gives the history of this rifle.
