1/5/22 – This is a very nice example of Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in June of 1944. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 88” Nazi military acceptance proofs throughout. There is an “asterisk” marking on the left side of the frame, indicating it failed initial inspection and was sent back to the factory for repair. It has retained about 93-94% of its bluing. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap, so the profile views are excellent. There is also very minor wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. There is a series of tiny dings on the left side of the slide and some very light scratching on the right side of the slide. Comes with very nice black bakelite grips (some light scuffing) and an un-marked period-correct magazine. The bore is mint. De-cocker is functional.
