3/29/21 – This is a “Sicherheitspolizei” Armband from WW2. A scarce variation, it’s made of a thin green fabric, and has black printed lettering. The seam and edges of the armband have a thin line of tight stitching. It’s printed with the wording “Im Dienste Der Sicherheitspolizei” (In the Service of the Security Police). The Sicherheitspolizei (SiPo), formed of the combined Gestapo and Kriminalpolizei, was the state political and criminal investigation security apparatus during the Third Reich. We haven’t seen many of these, and aren’t experts but this does pass a black light test.
