9/4/20 – This is an original Mauser P.38 rig issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The gun is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” military acceptance proofs. It is fully functional, including the de-cocker. The rig comes with an original holster and one period-correct Mauser magazine. The gun has retained about 80-85% of its original bluing. There is a fair amount of thinning most noticeable on the barrel and frame, starting above the trigger guard all the way down to the front strap. There is muzzle wear and high edge wear throughout. The barrel, through the ejection port, is thin and there is a spot of wear on the top plate. There is spotty wear and areas of reddish discoloration on the right side of the slide. Excellent grips. The bore is shiny with strong rifling – just minor freckling throughout. The holster is waffenamt and dated 1944. It is in decent condition – scuffs throughout and a name scratched into the top flap.
