1/19/21 – This is an original WW2 production K98 rifle made by Waffenwerke Brunn during 1943. The rifle is matching, except for the barrel band and butt plate, with the barrel band closest to the muzzle being numbered “11” and having an imperial proof stamp. The bolt assembly, receiver, floorplate, and rear sight are all matching numbered. The stock is faintly numbered but appears to not match the receiver. The right side of the buttstock has a faint remnant of a waffen proof stamp of some sort. The metal has honest wear throughout but no major rust or pitting. We rate around 60-70%. The wood stock has a surface crack that wraps around the wrist area of the wood. Still structurally sound however. The bore is fairly clean with some mild use wear. Strong rifling and 8.5/10 overall. Comes with a period correct leather sling.
