10/7/20 – This is the most uncommon variation of the German G43(K43) rifle, made in the final months of the war, around February-March of 1945. It was made at the Berliner Lubecker factory, which was assigned a ‘qve’ code in 1945 instead of the previous ‘bcd’ code. With a total of about 60,000 rifles made, this variation is one of the least encountered by the collectors and exhibits the late war rough machining and bluing. This is a very nice example in sniper rifle configuration with original ‘ddx’ marked ZF4 scope. The rifle has all matching numbers, including receiver, bolt and stock. The stock does appear to have been lightly sanded at some point though, so the serial numbers and waffenamts are faint. The original scope mount has waffenamt and is in good shape. The finish on the metal is thin throughout but that’s typical of a late war gun. Handguard is a late war example made of a dark red/brown phenolic resin that is like a plastic. Original cleaning rod and sight hood. Scope optics are pretty clear, just a hint of cloudiness. The magazine is also K43 marked with ‘aye’ maker mark.
