12/31/20 – This is a very nice example of a dual-tone Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. The dual-tone appearance is caused by a phosphate frame and blued barrel. This one is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” proofs. The nature of the phosphate makes this gun difficult to rate, but we estimate it has retained about 80% of its original finish. There is some wear on the barrel and general thinning on the slide. Spotty oxidation throughout. It has excellent grips and a period-correct magazine. Minty bore. De-cocker is functional.
