5/10/23 – This is a minty example of a National Postal Meter M1 Carbine issued to the US military in 1943. It was reworked at an arsenal – an adjustable rear sight and bayonet lug were added, likely for re-issue during the Korean War. Underwood barrel dated June of 1943. The stock is LW marked. This particular gun comes with some documents from the previous owner – letters written by him to the US Army. Apparently, he was having mechanical issues with his previous gun, so the Army Depot sent him this gun as a replacement. The metal parts have retained nearly all of their finish, with some spots of discoloration along the barrel and on the bayo lug. Minty wood stock. Mint bore. Comes with one magazine.
