4/4/23 – This is a beautiful example of a 1943 Springfield 1903-A3 rifle that was professionally converted to a 03-A4 sniper configuration. This rifle features a Remington 03A3 receiver and barrel which is dated to 1943. The stock is a GI field replacement scant stock, and the fore stock is also WW2 issue. The rifle features a Lyman Alaskan scope with an A prefix serial number. The scope has ultrafine crosshairs and a center dot for precision shooting – the optics are excellent and clear. The 1903-A4 was the standard army sniper rifle of WW2, and this reproduction (using original, vintage components) is a tribute to the originals carried throughout the war. This one shows essentially no signs of wear except for some minor finish loss on the butt plate. Like-new bore.
