12/22/22 – This is a near-mint example of a U.S. Springfield M2 Training Rifle. These were used as training and target rifles during WW2. The rifle has Lyman front and rear sights. The barrel is 1942 dated, SA stamped, and ordnance stamped. The metal is in like-new condition, as these were often arsenal refinished and updated to M2 specifications after WW2. There is virtually no actual finish loss, but there are some light scuffs and some small spots of discoloration here and there along the barrel. The action is very smooth and the bore is mint. The wood is clean and minty as well – “P” and “M2” proofs around the wrist. Comes with one original magazine.
