3/8/23 – This is a minty example of a very late-war Arisaka Type 99 rifle issued to the Japanese military in 1945. These are often referred to as “last-ditch” guns. This one shows all of the proper end-of-war characteristics, such as its peep-style rear sight, crude bolt handle, wooden butt plate, and crude machining throughout. It is entirely matching and has a completely intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. It has retained essentially all of its late-war finish. There are just some areas of light spotty oxidation here and there. Excellent end-of-war stock with no major damage, just some minor handling marks and dings here and there. The bore is like-new.
