5/30/17 – This is a near-mint Colt M1911A1, manufactured in 1943. The original finish rates at about 99%, with only a couple small dings beneath the slide stop, and almost zero finish loss. The pistol has the matching number slide, which was discontinued a few months later. This pistol was shipped from Colt to Springfield’s Armory in may of 1943.This pistol is all correct and original, with features such as P proofs on the slide and frame, G.H.D. inspector’s mark, proper Colt barrel and correct grips. This is an early GHD inspected pistol with small GHD marking. Magazine is ‘S’ marked on the lip. Bore is excellent with no pitting or frosting.
