10/26/22 – This is a minty example of a Colt Model 1911A1 that was manufactured in late 1944. As evidenced by the British proofs, this particular gun was part of the British lend-lease program. The gun is all correct, has the proper “GHD” inspector initials, “United States Property” marking, and the cross-canon military cartouche. It has a Colt Auto .45 barrel. It has retained about 97% of its parkerized finish. There is minor thinning on the front strap and around the high edges. A few small dings here and there, most noticeable on the front strap. Comes with excellent grips and a period-correct magazine. The bore is excellent with good rifling.
