5/5/20 – This is a mint Colt 1911A1 from 1943 that was part of the British lend-lease system. The pistol is completely original aside from the British proofs on slide, frame and barrel, and has 99+% of the original finish. There are very slight hints of high edge thinning, but the pistol looks nearly unused otherwise. Slide is numbered and matching to the frame. Original Colt barrel and ‘L’ proofed magazine. The listing includes the Colt factory letter stating that the pistol was sold to the US Government and sent to the Springfield Ordnance Depot in November of 1943.
