3/2/23 – This is an original example of a ‘byf 43’ Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in August of 1943. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” military acceptance proofs. It has retained about 85-90% of its original finish. There is some thinning on the front strap, and some wear along all the high edges of the slide. Additionally, there is a bit of muzzle wear and someone lightly scratched their initials into the firing pin cover. Fitted with an original set of period-correct reddish-brown bakelite grips. They are in decent shape but the back corner is chipped on both panels. Comes with a “Waffen 135” proofed Mauser magazine. Nice bore with strong rifling and some light frost and freckling in the grooves. Good mechanics and functional de-cocker.
