9/1/22 – This is a nice example of a Mauser Kriegsmodell rifle assembled at the end of WW2, in 1945. This particular gun has a rare “svw MB” Mauser factory code. Many of these guns were assembled by the French after they took over the factory from the Germans at the end of WW2. We believe this one is German-assembled, because it has the proper “Waffen 135” proofs and lacks any French star proofs. The receiver and bolt are matching, but some parts are mismatched, such as the rear barrel band and the rear sight. The front barrel band, floor plate (qnw), and trigger assembly (byf) are un-numbered. The stock is un-marked and appears to have been replaced. There is some thinning and spotty oxidation on the receiver. The finish on the barrel is dark and appears to have been touched up. Light scratchy wear on the barrel and barrel bands. Spotty oxidation and some pitting on the floor plate. Noticeable dings on the butt plate. Minty bore.
