12/18/18 – This is an original WW2 production K98 Rifle bayonet, scabbard and frog. The blade is 1940 dated and the frog is 1939 dated. The blade is blued and in excellent condition with normal, light bluing loss but no major rust or signs of sharpening. The blade is serial numbered 1015y and the spine is 40 dated with an “asw” maker code. The handle has light surface rust and discoloration on the metal parts and the handle has waffen WaA883 acceptance stamps. The scabbard is un-dated and serial numbered 2178a. The scabbard has very nice finish with no dents or cracks. The leasher frog is excellent with tight stitching. Maker stamped on the back E.O. Gotze & Sohn 1939 as well as “LBA”. Guaranteed original and authentic.
