6/9/21 – This is a nice example of a Mauser HSC that was sold in the commercial market in 1943. There is a circular “Joh. Ecker” proof on the left grip panel, indicating it was sent for resale to a private retailer. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle N” proofs. It has retained about 85% of its original bluing with most of the wear on the straps. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, there are areas of significant pitting throughout, most noticeable on the right side of the slide. There is also spotty oxidation throughout. The grips are slightly worn. There is a chip in the left panel and a hairline crack in the right panel. Comes with a blank-bottom magazine. Excellent bore – shiny with strong rifling.
