3/15/23 – This is a very nice example of a C96 manufactured during WW1. It appears to have originally been a commercial gun, but there is a “125.” marking on the front strap. This may be a military or police unit number. It comes with a nice wood stock that is numbered but not matching to the gun. No imperial proofs. There is a hairline crack on the right side around the screw hole. The gun itself is all matching and has retained roughly 75% of its original finish. There is general thinning on the frame and along the barrel. Light spotty oxidation along the barrel. Very light pin-pricking on the frame. Very nice matching-numbered grips. The bore has decent rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout.
