3/26/24 – This is a M1921 Mauser “Bolo”, manufactured in the late 1920’s. The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, imposed restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Mauser began manufacturing a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale with shorter, 3.9 inch barrel. This one is matching and comes as a rig with an original Mauser-marked wood stock. The finish rates roughly 80% with muzzle wear, general high edge wear, thinning on the grip straps, and some areas of light spotty wear on the left side of the barrel and left side of the frame. Excellent matching-numbered wood grips. Excellent bore.
