8/9/24 – This is a M1921 Mauser “Bolo”, manufactured in the late 1920’s. The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, imposed restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Mauser began manufacturing a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale with shorter, 3.9 inch barrel. This one is mismatched and has retained roughly 75-80% of its finish. There is general high edge wear and noticeable finish loss along the barrel. Heavy pitting under the grips. The bore has decent rifling, but there is noticeable pin-pricking throughout. The lanyard ring is missing, the safety has been altered, and the pin on the base plate has been replaced with a custom pin to hold it in place. The grips are un-numbered.
