8/8/24 – This is an original M1921 Mauser “Bolo”, manufactured in the late 1920’s. The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, imposed restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Mauser began manufacturing a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale with shorter, 3.9 inch barrel. This one is all matching and has retained about 95% of its original finish. While there isn’t much actual finish loss, there is noticeable brown patina throughout and some areas of pitting here and there. Fitted with its original matching-numbered wood grips – they are fairly worn. The rifling in the bore is almost completely worn with minor pitting throughout.
