10/24/23 – This is an excellent condition, all matching and original K98 conversion kit by Erma Erfurt. This kit was made in 1938, and converts any K98 into a .22 caliber target rifle. The barrel, receiver, and bolt assembly is all matching serial numbered, as is the original baseplate / magazine well attachment. The finish is excellent throughout, with most of the original blued finish intact. There’s some small areas of finish loss, but no rust or pitting anywhere on this kit. The barrel has a nice bore that’s shiny with strong rifling throughout, 9/10 overall because there’s traces of residue from previous use / cleaning (this would clean out easily). The only flaw is that one of the magazines is missing, so the kit is not 100% complete. Otherwise a beautiful example of a scarce conversion kit from WW2. The wood case measures 33.5 inches long.
