1/17/22 – This is an original 1938 dated K98 bayonet with an original matching numbered scabbard, and a black leather frog. The bayonet blade has very nice original finish in tact with some small spots of surface pitting near the tip, as well as mild finish loss. No signs of sharpening. Maker stamped on one side and serial numbered on the other. The handle has patina and dark discoloration along with finish loss throughout, and no cracks or chips in the handle. The scabbard has similar patina throughout but has no dents and is matching numbered. The leather frog is 1942 dated, and missing the secure strap that wraps around the bayonet handle, but otherwise is in great shape.
