12/9/20 – This is an original, early production K98 bayonet with a matching serial numbered scabbard, leather frog, and portepee. The bayonet blade is excellent with some light finish loss but most of the original blued finish in tact. Numbered 3203b on one side and S.178G on the reverse. Wood handle has no cracks or chips. The pommel has two eagle/73 droop winged eagle proofs. The scabbard has no dents but is missing most of the original finish. Light brown patina throughout. The leather frog is unmarked but in good condition with all original stitching in tact. The portepee is silver and black and has a fairly tattered rope but the knot is tight.
