7/16/24 – This is an original 1944 dated K98 bayonet with a matching numbered scabbard. The bayonet blade is in excellent condition with minimal finish loss, which is mostly located around and below the serial number stamped on the ricasso. The edge is clean and unsharpened. One side of the ricasso is stamped “44asw” while the other side is stamped “8735c”. The hand guard, hilt, and pommel are all in great shape with honest surface patina and dark discoloration. Spotty wear is mixed throughout the finish. The bayonet comes with a scabbard that’s in great overall condition with light finish loss but no dents or major issues. The markings on the scabbard match those found on the ricasso.
