4/24/24 – This is an original 1940 dated K98 bayonet with the original matching numbered scabbard and an original leather frog. The bayonet blade is in excellent condition with nice original finish throughout. The tip has some light scabbard rub wear and finish loss, and there’s light high edge wear along the blood groove. The edge is unsharpened and excellent. The base of the blade is maker stamped on one side and serial numbered on the reverse. 1940 dated on the spine. The scabbard is matching numbered at the mouth. The finish is in great condition on the scabbard, with natural patina and finish loss sporadically throughout the scabbard. No notable dents or major issues. The leather frog is in great condition with a light maker and date stamp on the reverse. The date appears to be 1936 but is faint and hard to decipher.
