10/17/22 – This is an original German Heer army M40 helmet with the original leather chinstrap and liner. The helmet is a single decal exterior in great condition with no dents and minimal paint loss. Some typical surface patina and aging on the exterior shell but no major issues. The interior shell is maker and size stamped “Q64” near the right ear. The back visor is stamped “DN80” as shown. The metal liner band is in great shape and doesn’t show signs of tampering or alteration. The leather liner has some scuffing and surface wear but is still in great shape overall. The chin strap has some cracking and aging throughout, but mostly near the ends of the leather strap.
