5/1/23 – This is an original, early variation Luftwaffe M35 Double Decal helmet. The helmet comes complete with an original leather liner and chin strap. The exterior helmet shell still has the original dark blue / grey colored paint with spotty discoloration, surface scratches, and surface patina throughout. No dents or major issues. The left side Luftwaffe decal is excellent, with about 90+% intact. The German shield is in ~80% condition with slightly more missing areas of the decal. The interior shell is maker and size stamped “Q 64”. The back-brim interior of the shell is lot numbered 4428. The metal liner band has a few bends and mild surface patina but is still tight and completely intact with two square-edged bails, correct for an early M35 helmet. The liner has some imperfections and small areas of leather missing, but is mostly intact. The leather chin strap has some mild surface wrinkling and cracking but is complete and all original.
