7/24/24 – This is an original, early WW2 production M35 German Army Helmet. The helmet is complete and all original with leather chinstrap and liner intact. The helmet shell features field grey/green paint in great condition throughout the shell. Some light patina and normal signs of age / spotty discoloration. No dents or major flaws. The exterior decal is about 60-70% intact with a portion of the left wing missing. The visible details are in great shape with light patina and fading near the eagle head. All rivets are original with traces of paint intact, and proper separately inserted vent holes. The interior shell is lot numbered 3487 on the back visor, and the left ear side of the interior shell is maker and size stamped “SE 60”. The metal liner band has mild dents and bends, but is in great shape overall. The rivets are securely attached and the interior of the band is marked “60 53”. This matching the sizing of the shell and liner, which is a great sign that this assembly is all original. The leather liner is in excellent condition overall with light discoloration and normal scuffing / wear around the rounded bend of leather. The interior of the liner is ink stamped for size, “53”. The leather chinstrap has surface cracking but no deep cracks, rips, or major issues. Maker stamped and dated (1939) on the end of the chinstrap, as shown.
