7/29/24 – This is an original, early WW2 production German M35 Heer Army Helmet. The helmet features original field green / grey combat paint that shows natural aging and patina throughout. There’s dark patina, paint loss and general age throughout the shell exterior, with more of the original paint visible on the interior of the shell. The left side of the exterior has an original Heer decal, with general roughness and wear, leaving about 60% of the decal intact, as shown. The right side of the exterior has a small area of lighter-coloring and spotty patina which suggests the German shield decal was once there and later removed. The rivets and vent holes are original and intact. The interior shell is maker and size stamped, “ET 64”, while the interior back visor is lot numbered 2718 (the “2” is very faint). Nice liner band and leather liner intact, although the stitching has separated and is missing from the back seam. Properly ink size stamped on the interior “B 57”. Only a small portion of the chinstrap remains, as shown. Overall a nice early example, priced to sell.
