7/14/23 – This is an original Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge from WW2. The badge comes with an original envelope and wax storage paper. There’s also an included photo of the medal alongside other examples from “Collector’s Guild Inc.”. Although there isn’t proof this badge is shown anywhere in the photo, it’s likely the badge was originally purchased from Collector’s Guild, which helps authenticate this as an original. The badge features a singular, flush rivet attaching the stamped nickel eagle to the outline / frame of the badge. The eagle and outer wreath show high edge wear and typical surface patina, but a significant amount of the original finish is still intact. The reverse retains the original fastening pin and hook, and has no maker markings or stamps. The medal is non-magnetic except for the closure pin. The wreath measures 56mm x 43mm and the eagle wingspan is 41.5mm. Weighs 38 grams.
