10/26/23 – This is an original WW2 Luftwaffe Gravity Knife by SMF. This example is in near excellent condition with a shiny, bright blade by SMF. Maker stamped on one side and no other markings. There’s light surface scratches on the blade, and some fine sharpening along the edge, but no major issues and visible cross graining throughout. Smooth action and fully functional with strong release / locking lever. The lever and side bar are matching numbered “440”. The collapsible spike is clean and functional with a Luftwaffe proof stamp on the base. The interior is numbered but hard to read as it’s very close to the internal hinge of the spike piece. Excellent original wood handles with some mild surface bruises but no cracks or chips.
