3/1/24 – This is an excellent example of a Luftwaffe Paratrooper / Fallschirmjager Gravity Knife. The blade is maker marked by SMF with visible cross-graining throughout. Very minimal surface wear, which is mostly light scratches sporadically located throughout each side. The edge is unsharpened. Excellent, smooth action with a matching numbered release lever and side bar. The wood handle has no cracks or chips, and there’s a faint personalization imprinted into one side of the handle. The inscription shows two dates “1939 – 1945” which is likely added by the capturing Veteran to commemorate time in service or in memory of WW2. The fold-out pick piece is Luftwaffe proof stamped on the base, and is also in excellent condition.
