7/14/23 – This is an excellent example of an original WW2 Luftwaffe Gravity Knife. The knife features a clean blade, light brown wood handle, smooth action / functionality, and a matching numbered release handle and side bar. The interior handle / metal frame of the blade is mismatching however (this is very common, and still considered correct). The fold-out spike is Luftwaffe proof stamped on the base. The blade is very clean with visible cross-graining throughout and only some very light surface scratches and evidence of light buffing / cleaning. The handle has no cracks or chips. The metal frame and mouth of the handle has some light surface patina and a few spots of speckling discoloration, but is in overall excellent condition.
